Different treatments for Pearls
Pearls undergo many treatments now before they are sold in retails outlets, online store. The main treatments that pearl undergo these days can be broadly be classified into three processes. The first process is polishing. Pearl Polishing smoothen the surface of the pearls and in some cases also increases the luster of the pearls. The second process which is increasingly used nowadays is bleaching. Bleaching helps to remove some of the color irregularities found in the pearls. Third process which is used for treating pearls for pearl jewelry is color enhancements. Different Pearls like Akoya Pearls, Fresh Water pearls are dyed with many different colors. Make sure you know of all these treatments and your jeweler discloses all the treatment that the pearl has undergone so that you can make an informed decision. Â
