Why use Voice-overs?
Voice-overs in movie trailers are often vital to the audience. This is because most movies have extensive plots, of which aren’t completely known- such as the Transformers trailer. For this reason, trailers usually come with a voice-over that explains vital parts of the story, so the audience knows what they are seeing from visual aids. Movies that have sequels, such as the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix trailer, are less likely to make use of voice-overs since they are more well known. However, they are still almost always used, and are a valuable tool to trailer makers.
